Fortunately, I planned a recovery run for today. My glutes were sore and my left calf was a little sore. I took it nice and easy and felt about the same at the end of the run as I felt at the beginning. I did 4/3 breathing to make sure I kept it slow.
My heart rate averaged 116.3 The interesting thing was I decreased my HR by 4 BPM in mile 6 compared to mile 5 and I only slowed the pace by 3 seconds. Granted, mile 6 had a decline but I rarely decrease my heart rate at the end - unless I am walking!
Three weeks ago, I did a forced low HR run. I ran 6 miles and my HR averaged 113.8. My HR on today's run was 2.5 BPM higher. However, the pace for the run three weeks ago was 10:47 compared to 9:56 today. Maybe I am making progress?
